Prohibition

perplexing desires
rage through my veins,
rubbing coarsely
against the fabric of my faith.
questions,
my conscience
has no answers to,
annex my reasoning
and i follow your lead –
we waltz
on the music of our breaths.
persisting passions
roll off your tongue
and infiltrate my flesh.

I wake up sore
to the heady taste
of a forbidden love,
an unquenched thirst.
