A tightness in the throat, I can not reveal in letter
Fear of doom from a future that gently promises to be better;
Who put this boulder on chest, under its heaviness I sink
Between me and sanity, I had you; now, a lost link.
A mind so eloquent, now cries rivers of blank distilled sorrow
‘Live today’, you said; I’m not equipped to face tomorrow
Console me with sweet words, but they are no substitute.
I swear I never knew craving, till you drove my soul so destitute.
I have tried, I have cried and I have dried; I now only wait
For the numbness to creep in and save me from the lashings of Fate.
Numbness is plain; I can paint bright colours on it, red and blue
I can fill it with soft kisses of love and heartening smiles for you
