Playing in the Snow

An empty crate of justice,

being passed and parceled,

face to face;

sheltering in its dark crevices

shards of broken hearts,

wisps of fractured hopes,

crumbs of failed dreams –

that fall in ever so silently

as if it were flakes of snow,

never pressing its presence,

but weighing more than you know.
